On 7 March, for the first time, Principals and senior leadership from each of the ten schools, local government, senior DET representatives and philanthropic funders attended a workshop to start to think about what it means to be an Our Place school. The first half of the day included a presentation from Professor Ted Melhuish of Oxford University, who presented the evidence behind the Our Place approach, and why a focus on early learning and integrated children’s’ services makes a significant positive difference to education outcomes Discussions centred around the capabilities required for school site implementation and what is required for all schools and communities to thrive through diverse, connected and empowered local partnerships.
