Kids First is proud to operate the three- and four-year-old kindergarten program onsite at Seymour Family & Children’s Centre. We aim to empower children and their families to grow and develop positively, from the early years and beyond.

With Kids First’s experience in providing child and family services, and best practice learnings from our Early Years Education Program, you can be assured that your child will be immersed in a rich and supportive learning experience.

Kids First is recognised by the Department of Education and Training as an accredited Early Years Manager. This means we are recognised for our expertise in the delivery of high quality early childhood education and care services.

Eligibility

For four year olds, your child must turn 4 by April 30 in the year of attendance. If your child was born between January and April you can choose which year to enrol your child, including the year the child is eligible or the year after.

For three year olds, children must turn 3 by 30 April in the year they commence, however a parent will be required to stay with the child until they turn three years old.

Free Kinder in 2023

Kids First kinder is participating in the free three- and four-year-old kinder in 2023. Free Kinder means more Victorian children can have the best start in life, no matter where they live.

For three-year-olds, this means from 5 and up to 15 hours per week of a kindergarten program. For four-year-olds, this means 15 hours per week. For more information, visit Sending your child to kinder | vic.gov.au.

How to enrol

Kindergarten enrolments for the Seymour Family and Children’s Centre are processed by the Mitchell Shire Children’s Services Team via the Mitchell Shire website, or by contacting the Children’s Services team on (03) 5734 6200, or emailing enrolseymourfcc@kidsfirstaustralia.org.au.
