Latrobe City Council’s Maternal Child and Health (MCH) service operates on site on a fortnightly basis and is staffed by a qualified Maternal and Child Health Nurse.

Maternal and Child Health is a free and confidential service for Latrobe City families, who have children aged from birth to six years of age.

The Maternal and Child Health service offers support and advice, including

• Regular checks on your child’s health, development and growth.
• New parent groups.
• Women and parent health issues including postnatal depression.
• All aspects of breastfeeding.
• Sleep and settling guidance.
• Parenting issues including diet and nutrition, toilet training, behaviour and guidance, safety, immunisation and more.
• Families working through complex needs and issues.
• Referrals to specialist services for concerns identified by the parent or the Maternal and Child Health Nurse.
