Research paper published with Monash University
Our Place has contributed to the research base by sharing our learnings beyond Our Place sites. In partnership with Monash University, a research paper was published that leverages the data collection efforts with Doveton College.
The paper provides preliminary evidence that attending early learning within a high-quality, wrap-around service model may have significant academic benefits for disadvantaged children.
Ongoing and planned research is designed to answer questions such as:
- do these learnings hold over time and as children who remain at the College grow?;
- do children who attend engagement and enrichment programs demonstrate stronger attendance at school or academic outcomes?; and,
- is there any relationship between parental educational status and child performance at school?
